Tenders are invited for Promoting Forest ICT (Information and Communication Technology) in Uzbekistan The World Bank is working w/the Gov't of UZ, in cooperation with Korea Forest Service, in strengthening innovative Information, Communication and Technology to the UZ forest sector. A study, Promoting Forest Information, Communication and Technology in UZA situational analysis and proposal on ICT promotion in the forestry sector will need to be undertaken, to include the following three priority areas: (i)building an information basis of the status of forests and woodlands to inform a national strategic plan for forest development (plan to establish a monitoring system for forest management);(ii) economic management of forest landscapes through diversified activities including ecotourism (plan to establish contents for forest ecotourism services);and,(iii)forest landscape restoration through reforestation/afforestation, agroforestry and multiple-use forest management (plan for the establishment of a forest geospatial information system for the restoration of forest landscapes).
