Expression of Interest are invited for High-Frequency Household Survey (Listening to the Citizens of Uzbekistan). Publication Date: 4/12/2024 12:00 AM EDT EOI Deadline: 4/15/2024 11:59 PM EDT Description: The Poverty and Equity Global Practice of the World Bank is looking for an experienced survey firm to conduct monthly high-frequency household phone surveys and in-person baseline survey in Uzbekistan. The Poverty and Equity Global Practice of the World Bank has conducted the Listening to the Citizens of Uzbekistan Survey (L2CU) survey since 2018 and successfully collected and monitored socio-economic indicators and citizens- perceptions on important policy areas from 1500 households on a monthly basis. The Effective Governance for Economic Development (EGED) is a programme funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) to improve the effectiveness, accountability, and transparency of economic policies in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. Uzbekistan has embarked on significant economic reforms that affect most citizens. The potential benefits of reform are large, but the process will be challenging, and there will be adjustment costs for some at-risk groups. The government has prioritized dialogue with citizens to better understand the main concerns of the population and the social impacts of the reform process. The L2CU initiative is one important component of the World Bank-s EGED project that supports this objective. L2CU will integrate multiple approaches to monitor the wellbeing of households over time, with a focus on challenges relating to the reform agenda. It would also include mechanisms for public consultations on the monitoring results. Since the last baseline survey that is used for the monthly L2CU survey was conducted 6 years ago, the World Bank will conduct a new in-person baseline survey for 5,000 households under this procurement.
